Sportingbet Australia punters have launched at Canali and The Ruffian in the two headline races at this year’s Darwin Cup Carnival.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said there were good sized bets including $20,000 on each galloper.
“The punters have smashed Canali’s Palmerston Sprint price in from $4.60 to $4.20 with the bets including one of $20,000,†said Sullivan.
“He’s a very good sprinter with wins in Perth and Melbourne on his resume and looks in this up to his ears.
“There’s also been a good go on The Ruffian in the Darwin Cup with the bets including one of $20,000 at $4.00 and there’s little doubt he’ll start a well backed favourite on Monday.â€
The Ruffian is in line for a $100,000 Triple Crown bonus should he win the Darwin Cup after previously scoring in the Darwin Guineas and NT Derby.
